Yesterday was my birthday. I made it a celebration of life all day. By water in the morning and mountains in the late afternoon, until a culminating point in human exchange.
After a special dehydrated food meal at the top of a mountain, organised by my brother-in-law (not your ultimate gourmet birthday meal but a good experience); and a delicious cake to make up for the main course; I did something no one understood, but I trusted and followed my instinct.
THE OUTCOME OF MY DECISION SIMPLY MADE MY DAY!
I walked up to strangers who had been trying for a while to get their kid into their car and said with a big smile on my heart and face:
“Hi, it’s my birthday today and I was wondering if this young boy would like a taste of my cake”?
Past the initial surprise, I was feeding these 2 years old, in his mother’s arms. He couldn’t eat fast enough to get more! We were hysterical.
The moral of this story is what I thrive to share abundantly with my clients:
LIVE WITH NO REGRETS and to do so
FEEL AND HONOUR YOUR INSTINCT.
IF I HAD LISTENED TO MY FAMILY AND THEIR FEARS, THIS SPONTANEOUS HUMAN EXCHANGE FILLED WITH JOY, WARMTH AND LIGHTNESS WOULDN’T HAVE HAPPENED.
Recently, I asked a struggling friend looking for an answer about what to do:
“WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF?
Because you can’t spend 3/4 of your life in either fear or worry about:
Is it the right time?
Should I do this now?
Can I say it?
Should I say it?”
Personally, I want to celebrate life as often as possible.
So, tell me what’s worse: what other people will think of you or suppressing your own voice?
Consider this:
NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, ISN’T HOW YOU DO IT THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE?
MY RECOMMENDATION: Live to dare and dare living with your heart out!
